A kick ass day

If you’ve been reading this week, I am sure you can tell I’ve been riding an emotional roller coaster.  Yesterday was rough, but ended on a high note.  The kids I babysit were extra good last night and I got a lot of one-on-one time with each of them.  Here is me hanging out with Van.Image

This morning I debated whether or not to go to my usual Weight Watchers meeting.  My Oregano’s binge session threw off my whole week and I was sure I gained weight.  I decided to go, and I am super glad I did.  Not only am I down 1.4 pounds, but I got a lot of helpful advice and information today.  One woman who regularly attends that meeting is also now a leader and shared that another woman who also attends the Sunday meeting had just weighed in and was so frustrated with her plateau that she said she was giving up and never coming back.  I understand that we all have bad days, and I have felt that way before too, but she has lost over 75 pounds so she obviously knows the plan works.  I think that sometimes, especially the older we get, it is easy to get caught up in a number- whether that be a dress size or ideal weight.  If you have been maintaining for 4-5 months, maybe that is where your body is meant to be.  I am no expert, but I am doing this for my health, which I think is the most important and sustainable reason and way to lose weight Seriously, what is life without brownies or fro-yo?

After WW I met up with my sponsor and talked with her about my anxiety and fears over my job search.  Again, she focused on keeping it simple and we talked about some ideas to apply for jobs this week.  I already found two today that I will fill out the online applications for tomorrow.

After lunch I headed to Trader Joe’s and stocked up on a lot of healthy foods including cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, turkey burgers, chicken burgers, greek yogurt, salad, and hummus.  I prepped all my food for this week and made protein pancakes and protein muffins.

Here is my healthy fridge

The muffins kind of sunk when I baked them, but they taste good!Image

Sorry, the picture isn’t the best because I took it on my crappy Iphone.

I feel so healthy today! I also worked out for 55 minutes, including 25 minutes of jogging and running.  I am working on my endurance in hopes of finding some races to participate in next fall.

I am tired from my busy day, so tonight I plan on lighting a candle, relaxing, and watching more Parks and Rec.

Hope you have a great Sunday night!

Peace and Love,

Amber
