Shake it up

Today I did something that I rarely do before 11 a.m.  I exercised!

I love sleep.  I love my bed. I hate waking up. I love coffee.  (you may be starting to realize why this is a big deal).

I used to get up at least twice a week for spin class at 5:45 a.m. (yes…in the morning) but that was a long time ago and I don’t for the life of me know what possesed me to set my alarm for 5:00 and drag my large butt out of bed in the winter in Minnesota.  The past is the past, so I might as well just quit trying to relive it and make a difference today.  Today’s workout was a babystep in the right direction.  I am hoing to keep up this trend because morning workouts supposedly help improve sleep, prove to be more consistant, and help curb your appetite (according to research from University of Texas, Denton)

The combination of coffee and working out can’t be beat!

I have a feeling my workday is going to go painfully slow. There is only one other person working with me today and we are both b o r e d silly.  I have a few projects that I need to get started on but really not that much to do.  I also am on call tonight and tomorrow and can’t leave campus so there is a good chance I’ll make it to the gym again tonight.

Are you stuck in a rut?  How are you planning on shaking things up?  Any tips to trying a new routine or activity at the gym?
